Research Interests:

I previously studied mechanisms related to ion channel dysfunction within metabolism and neuroscience. In the brain, I studied cell-type specific expression of the ion channel regulator FGF13 using tissue staining techniques, cell culture, and mouse behavioral assays. Separately, I investigated hypoglycemia and the metabolic counter-regulatory response in a rare disorder called Timothy syndrome.

Broadly, I am interested in studying the molecular neuroscience of neuronal functioning and neurological disorders, as well as the cellular/neuronal signaling of metabolic disorders.
