RAMIN PARSEY, MD, PHD Dean of Stony Brook Clinical and Translational Science Center - SBCTSC
An idea in the laboratory is only as good as its impact on patient health. Stony Brook Clinical and Translational Science Center now provides infrastructure, services, and training to allow for a more effective and efficient research process. Ideas that are discovered and generated in a laboratory setting can now reach patient to positively impact their healthcare sooner than expected.
The community of Stony Brook's Clinical and Translational Science Center (SBCTSC) will allow Stony Brook to prosper to new heights and achieve new levels of success. This will enhance Stony Brook’s ability to obtain more grants and awards in the future. SBCTS will offer expertise in Biomedical Informatics, Community and Collaboration, Translational Endeavors, Research Methods, and Network Capacity. Our purpose is to provide full service and integrated clinical translational research capabilities within the Suffolk County region. This will provide a critical infrastructure around the clinical and translational research enterprise by improving the development of discoveries into drugs and by supporting new tools and methods to improve the health of patients on Eastern Long Island. Three immediate initiatives that we are currently focusing on are Investigational New Drug support, Clinical Trials and Recruitment Support, and Biostatistician Assistance.
