Welcome to Stony
Brook Dermatology Associates, a broad spectrum suite that enables us to provide
dermatologic treatment and care on many dimensions. We achieve the total solution for each and
every patient by offering a myriad of sub-specialty treatments. An academic environment is the linchpin to
the efficiency and superior quality of our patient care.
We are

education, research, and community service. Our specialized dermatology services
contribute to the unique range and reputed quality of health care provided at
Stony Brook University Medical Center. They constitute the solid foundation of
our residency programs that train physicians for the future and this is the

Our faculty and staff alike are anchored by a centralized
philosophy to achieve total quality spanning administrative to clinical
services. As such, we are able to
realize continuity in the valuable patient experience we deliver.
Patient Care
Clinical care for Dermatology patients is provided at our Tech Park Practice Location (631-444-4200), as well as at the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Northport. Clinical specialties include, but are not exclusive to, atopic dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, alopecia areata, cutaneous allergies, autoimmune blistering diseases, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, eczema, pemphigus, pemphigoid, psoriasis, skin cancer, and wound healing. Our friendly
and helpful staff is available daily to assist you with scheduling an
appointment, answering your question(s) or having your problem addressed and
resolved.
Distinctive Treatments
We
have a comprehensive dermatologic practice to provide an expansive range of
treatment:
- MOHS (Micrographic Skin Cancer Surgery)
- Phototherapy
- Patch Testing
- Laser Technology
- Cosmetic Dermatology
Teaching
The department has an active teaching program for both medical students, and dermatology residents. Primary teaching sites include the Tech Park Clinical practice location and the VA Medical Center (VAMC) at Northport.
Research
Our Faculty is active in both clinical and basic science research. Pharmacology research, including trials of new medications, is conducted at our Tech Park practice location. Areas of expertise in basic research include autoimmune diseases of the skin, angiogenesis, keratinocyte biology and molecular biology, tissue engineering and wound healing.
