Research Interests

Rachel graduated from Pepperdine University in 2018 with a B.S. in Biology. Her previous research experience includes identification of the viral protein target of related classes of anti-enteroviral small molecule inhibitors and worked in a cell culture pilot plant at Amgen to collect data to inform the development of manufacturing procedures for biologics-producing cell lines. Rachel also has created a cost-effective teaching module for teaching undergraduate students the principles of flow cytometry that utilizes Staphylococcus aureus. Rachel would like to pursue research in the areas of viral vaccines, antiviral drugs, and viral therapies.
