Research Interests

Undergraduate research was focused on studying the mechanisms underlying hematopoietic cancer and inflammation using Drosophila molecular genetics. Current work revolves around the role host sphingolipids in fungal infections. More specifically, the goal of the current research is to define a role for sphingomyelin and cholesterol, known constituents of lipid rafts, in the phagocytic response to Cryptococcus neoformans.
