Research Interests

My lab studies gammaherpesviruses, especially focusing on the ways that the virus and the host regulate viral persistence. In particular, my dissertation research revolves around a host complex of proteins responsible for establishing heterochromatin and silencing genes known as the KRAB-ZFP/KAP1 complex. Together, we believe components of this complex suppress the ability of gammaherpesviruses (such as EBV) to emerge from its latent state. In my free time, I enjoy watching Hockey (Go Devils!), reading, and exercising.
