Volunteers Needed for Brain Imaging Research Study in Opioid Use Disorder

Who we are looking for:

  • Ages 18-55
  • Right-handed
  • Current or past DSM-5 Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and/or ongoing use of medication-assisted treatment for OUD (e.g. Suboxone, Methadone, etc.)
  • Negative urine toxicology (except for Opioids & Cannabis)
  • Proficient in English

    To determine if you are eligible, you will first be asked a series of questions on the phone

  • Following this, if you are found to qualify, a team member will schedule a weekday for you to come in person for the first visit

Your participation:

  • As mentioned, there are a variety of different studies investigating Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective, and Schizophreniform disorder (as well as symptoms of these disorders) within our lab

    Most of these studies can be completed within 3-7 visits
    Procedures for all studies involve the following, although some involve additional tasks:

    Confidential interviews
    A physical exam (with blood/urine collection & ECG)
    Surveys & questionnaires
    Cognitive testing and behavioral tasks
    MRI and/or PET scan(s)

Benefits & Compensation:

  • You will be compensated up to $440 if you are eligible and complete the study.
  • Other possible benefits include contributing to science that may lead to new substance use disorder therapies and receiving medical procedures- such as a physical exam, diagnostic evaluation, and brain imaging- at no cost to you.
