Stony Brook Mood + Anxiety Research + Treatment Center

SMART Center
Mood and anxiety disorders are common and leading causes of problems that interfere with all aspects of life, including interpersonal relationships, professional success, and general well-being. Unfortunately, available therapeutic options do not work for many people with these illnesses, and often require long treatment courses or provide only limited benefit.

The Stony Brook Mood + Anxiety Research + Treatment Center (SMART Center) combines advanced diagnostics, including brain imaging and biochemical assessments, with innovative treatments to improve care. We are particularly interested in non-systemic neuromodulatory device-based treatments and rapidly acting medications.
