The Department of Neurology at SUNY Stony Brook, has positions available for Adult and Pediatric Neurologists. The Department has accredited training programs in neurology, child neurology, clinical neurophysiology, epilepsy, and vascular neurology, and joins with several other departments within the framework of the Stony Brook Neurosciences Institute to provide a wide range of clinical and research programs. We offer our faculty an opportunity to combine an enabling professional environment with gracious and affordable living, convenient to NYC. Stony Brook University Hospital is the only academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center in Suffolk County (population 1.5 million), located on Long Island's scenic North Shore within a highly-ranked public school district (Three Village Central).
Given broad institutional plans to further strengthen an already accomplished neurosciences community, Neurology is currently interested in recruiting both physician-investigators, and clinician-educators. We plan to build up clinical programs in several areas, including behavioral neurology, neurodegenerative diseases, neuromuscular diseases, vascular neurology, autism, and general neurology, the latter with an emphasis on safety/quality initiatives and clinical outcomes. On the research front we aim to strengthen translational research capabilities, and welcome applications from candidates with strengths in either bench or clinical research.
Positions in the Department of Neurology are posted on the Stony Brook University Career Opportunities page.
Underrepresented minority candidates are especially encouraged to apply.
