Research Interests
Harrison is interested in the morphological evolution and phylogenetic relationships of neosuchian crocodyliforms and how these factors influence and/or reflect their spatial and temporal distributions as well as reveal the potential patterns of ecological adaptation within this group and across other crocodyliforms. For his undergraduate degree, Harrison studied microvertebrate assemblages, completed multiple fossil preparation projects, and undertook many exploratory prospecting missions and quarrying work of the poorly understood Blackleaf Formation of Montana. Early in his work on the formation, he helped to discover some of the only known/describable vertebrate remains within it besides a previously known ornithopod dinosaur, and hopes to continue and expand his exploration so that the critical time period the Blackleaf Formation was deposited within can be better understood.
