Stony Brook’s Center for Global Health Equity works collaboratively with our international partners to build capacity for excellent patient care, education, and research in order to eliminate health disparities and mutually strengthen institutions of Stony Brook Medicine and our international partner institutions.
We are an interdepartmental global health initiative at Stony Brook University with the goal of improving the quality of care through the training and education of physician and nurse specialists in Maputo, Mozambique and around the world.
Our three primary goals are to improve the quality of healthcare through the training and education of specialists at the largest of four public quaternary care hospitals in Mozambique by:

Improving the quality of care for patients receiving specialist care at Maputo Central Hospital (MCH).

Developing human resources for health in Mozambique through training and education.

Developing capacity for conducting high-quality relevant research that will impact health outcomes in Mozambique and beyond.
