SBMS Trainee: Livia Schutz
I am a rising 3rd year Ph.D. student in the Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology program at Stony Brook University. My current research in Dr. Martin Kaczocha’s lab is focused on studying monoacylglycerol lipase-derived eicosanoids in postoperative pain. Through the SBMS program and with the guidance of Dr. James Nicholson, I am hoping to see the translational potential my project has by collecting samples from patients that are undergoing total knee arthroplasty and assess the translational potential of targeting 2-AG/EIC crosstalk in humans.
