I am a third-year PhD student in the Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology program. I became interested in research while studying biochemistry at my undergraduate institution, Binghamton University. There, I completed two research internships under the McNair Scholars Program and the Pfizer Summer Student Worker Program. Now at Stony Brook, I am working with Dr. Sandeep Mallipattu to study the interactions between podocytes and parietal epithelial cells within the kidneys. My research interests include generating three-dimensional model systems to better visualize the communication between these cell types. This includes the use of 3D bioprinting and kidney organoids. As part of the Scholars in Biomedical Sciences program, I am generating patient-derived kidney organoids for disease modeling and high-throughput drug screening.
