Born and raised on Long Island, I received my BS in Bioengineering at Union College in Schenectady, NY, which is where I gained my interest in musculoskeletal biomechanics. I am continually learning to apply my biomechanics background within the orthopaedic bioengineering lab of Dr. Yi-Xian Qin. Previous work in our lab has shown that low-intensity pulsed ultrasound treatment mitigated the pathophysiological symptoms of osteoarthritis, including sensory nerve innervation. My research will further dive into the pain mechanism of OA to evaluate the role of axonal guidance proteins, including Netrin-1, under ultrasound treatment. Outside of the lab, I enjoy playing golf and I am a member of Stony Brook’s club hockey team.
