Fu originally came from China. She received her B.S. in Biological Science from Sichuan University, China, in 2017 and studied at Columbia University and Oxford University as a visiting student in 2015 and 2016, respectively. She has a strong interest in cancer genomics and translational research and is currently pursuing her dissertation research in the lab of Dr. Flaminia Talos. Her thesis project is to study the clonal dynamics in prostate homeostasis and aging. Under the clinical mentorship of Dr. Howard Alder, Fu will investigate the effects the active Wnt4 signaling on growth patterns in homeostatic and aged prostate luminal layer and the underlying molecular regulatory mechanisms. The goal is to uncover novel therapeutic targets for maintenance of prostate homeostasis and prevention of age-related prostate disorders. Outside of the lab, Fu likes scuba diving and cooking.
