I am a second year doctoral student in the Chemistry program. I obtained a B.S. in Biochemistry here at Stony Brook University in 2023, where I completed a thesis under Dr. Peter Tonge titled "Exploring the Target Vulnerability of Leucyl-tRNA Synthetase (LeuRS) in Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa". In graduate school, I had the opportunity to continue my research with Dr. Peter Tonge, further exploring time-dependent inhibition of both antibacterial and oncological drug targets. Through the SBMS program, I am working with Dr. Charles Vorkas to incorporate clinical samples into our studies of protein turnover rates, focusing on UDP-3-O-acyl-N-acetylglucosamine deacetylase (LpxC) in gram-negative bacteria and Bruton's Tyrosine Kinase (BTK) in patients with Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)
