Take the Long Island Expressway (LIE, I-495) (Eastbound from the Queens Midtown Tunnel in Manhattan or the Throgs Neck Bridge or Whitestone Bridge in Queens ) to Exit 62 - Nicolls Road North (Route 97) 8½ miles. The main entrance to Stony Brook University Medical Center and The Health Sciences is on the right.

Car ferries cross Long Island Sound at Bridgeport, Connecticut to Port Jefferson, Long Island. Take Route 25A west to Nicolls Road, the University entrances are the first 3 intersections you come to. From New London, Connecticut to Orient Point, Long Island, take Route 25A west to Nicolls Road, the University entrances are the first 3 intersections you come to.
By Train
Take the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) Port Jefferson line from Penn Station in Manhattan to Stony Brook (some trains require changing at Jamaica Station or Huntington Station). The train station is at the edge of the campus and free shuttle bus service to the central campus is provided. Shuttle bus map - take the Outer Loop shuttle to Administration stop for both the conference venue (Wang Center) and campus Hilton hotel (summer is schedule D which loops continuously from 7 AM to10:30 PM on Monday thru Friday, and 8 AM to 5 PM on Sunday).
