Overview

Our expertise is rooted in science-based treatment approaches. Patients are provided with a treatment manual and between session practice exercises to foster the development of skills. The following group-based treatment programs are offered at the center: 

Emotion Regulation and Resiliency Building Treatments

Stress Management And Resiliency Training (SMART) Program

SMART is a 12-session program designed to promote skills to achieve relaxation and connectedness to self and others. Skills are taught for decreasing the physical, emotional, mental and behavioral effects of stress. This program has resulted in improvements to both mental and physical health symtoms. 

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Program

DBT is a 12-session program most commonly known to treat Borderline Personality Disorder, chronic suicidal thoughts and self-injurious behaviors AND is also effective for individuals with emotion regulation difficulties and depression. The “dialectical” piece focuses on the ability to take different viewpoints and balance between one's changing outlook and accepting situations as they are. The “behavioral” piece focuses on the ability to look at and understand behavior choices and learn new coping skills.

Behavioral Health Treatments 

Health Enhancement Program (HEP)

 The HEP is a 12-session behavioral health skills building treatment. This program addresses education, goal setting and behavioral skills for improving health behaviors including sleep hygiene, nutrition, exercise, substance use and health care management. 

Comprehensive Smoking Cessation Program

This program is designed to help individuals quit smoking and to manage negative emotions and/or pain without cigarettes. Learning how to apply skills to quit and remain smoke free is the goal of this program. It incorporates standard therapeutic skills for quitting smoking with enhanced cognitive-behavioral treatment (CBT) and relaxation training to manage anxiety/stress/depression and/or pain experiences. This treatment program helps individuals learn to manage negative emotions and pain experiences. Nicotine replacement therapy is also encouraged as part of this program.
