012/2023 - More Travel Awards and Conference Presentations!
Chris, Natalie, Patrick, and Kathryn attended the American Society of Cell Biology (ASCB) and European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) Cell Bio 2024 Conference in Boston, MA. Natalie and Patrick were awarded travel grants sponsored by ASCB to support conference attendance. Natalie, Patrick, and Kathryn all presented posters.

Chris, Natalie, and Patrick attended the 19th International Xenopus Conference in Cambridge, MD. Natalie and Patrick were awarded travel grants sponsored by the conference to aid in attendance. Natalie was selected to give an oral presentation and Patrick presented a poster.
05/2023 - Graduation!
Samuel Samous graduated with honors in Biochemistry and earned an Outstanding Achievement Award in Biochemistry! He is taking a year off before applying to med school to continue his work as an EMT. Congratulations Sam, thank you for everything!
04/2023 - Image Contest Winner!
Natalie attended the Cold Spring Harbor Cell & Developmental Biology of Xenopus: Gene Discovery & Disease two-week course. She also won first prize in the Xenopus 2023 Image Competition Award sponsored by Xeonpus1! Image of a Xenopus laevis dissected brain labeled for nestin (green) and tubulin (magenta).
08/2022 - New Grant Awarded!
The Brownlee lab was awarded a Maximizing Investigator's Research Award (MIRA R35) from the NIH/NIGMS. A total of $1,943,000 will be distributed over five years to fund work probing the basic mechanisms that regulate mitotic spindle positioning, ciliogenesis, and oligodendrocyte branching.
06/2022 - New URECA Fellow!
Theresa Rohan has been awarded an Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (URECA) Fellowship. We are happy to have her join us while she investigates mechanisms of ciliogenesis, welcome Theresa!

Modhshobair (Shobair) Hussaini graduated with his M.S. from the Department of Physiology and Biophysics Graduate Program. He is starting an exciting new chapter as a Post Baccalaureate Fellow at the NIH/NCI in the laboratory of Dr. Ryan Young. Congratulations Shobair, you will be missed!
