The Department of Pediatrics offers fellowship training programs in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Pediatric Infectious Diseases, and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. Fellows act as consultants and teachers in the inpatient and outpatient settings, supporting the residents in their role as primary caretakers.
Pediatric Emergency Medicine
The Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) Fellowship Program at Stony Brook University Hospital offers a dynamic, comprehensive training experience in all facets of the subspecialty. Our innovative program is designed to immerse fellows in a wide range of clinical and academic opportunities, fostering the development of the knowledge, skills, and expertise needed to excel in both the practice and teaching of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
Pediatric Gastroenterology
The Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship program has been ACCME accredited since 2008. It is a three year program open to graduates who have successfully completed an ACGME accredited Pediatric residency program. The program aims to train physicians in the art and science of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. It is based at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital and its affiliated Medical School.
Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
This fellowship is designed to build on the foundation you’ve established during pediatric residency, helping you evolve into a skilled and independent neonatologist. We provide in-depth training in procedural skills and neonatal resuscitation, while exposing you to a broad spectrum of clinical cases and pathology. Our program offers a challenging yet supportive environment, ensuring you gain the confidence and expertise needed to practice independently.
