The Town of Brookhaven Division of Women’s Services will recognize Darlene Jyringi for her outstanding service to the community at the Twenty-fifth Annual Women’s Recognition Awards Ceremony where she will receive the Community Service Professional Award.
The award is based in part on Ms. Jyringi’s work as Program Director of the Alzheimer’s Disease Assistance Center of Long Island (ADAC-LI), a program of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at Stony Brook University. Ms. Jyringi was nominated by members of the ADAC’s family support group and professional colleagues who hailed her ability to help people deal with the challenges of caring for someone with Alzheimer’s Disease.
The award ceremony, which is open to the public, will be held at 6:30 PM on Tuesday March 22 at Brookhaven Town Hall in Farmingville. For more information, call the Division of Women’s Services at 698-2074.
