Lory Bright-Long, MD To Be Guest of Honor at Sisters of St. Joseph Gala

The Sisters of St. Joseph in Brentwood will honor Lory Bright-Long, MD at their Annual Gala and Dinner Dance on October 20, 2011. Dr. Bright-Long, who is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at Stony Brook University, has been the Medical Director of the Sisters of St. Joseph’s Maria Regina Residence since 2001. She also provides psychiatric consultation to the Long Island State Veterans Home.

Sr. Kerry Handal, CSJ, said that Dr. Bright-Long is being honored because she exemplifies the principles of love, unity and reconciliation. “We are all about healing,” Sr. Handal said, “and Dr. Bright-Long reflects that in everything she does.”

The Maria Regina residence is a 188-bed skilled nursing facility in Brentwood which provides continuing care and rehabilitation services. Thirty-one beds are set aside for special care, including care for patients with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Sr. Helen Clancey, CSJ, the founding administrator of the residence, and Henry Gonzalez, President of Integrated Construction Services, will also be honored at the gala.
