Three physicians have joined the faculty, enabling the the Department of Psychiatry to expand the range of its services in drug addiction, autism and psycho-oncology.
Shawn Allen, MD joined the department on July 2, 2015 as an attending physician in the adult outpatient department. Dr. Allen comes to us from Project Renewal, a New York City based not-for-profit organization, where he was Medical Director of Outreach Programs and the director of an Article 28 clinic serving dually diagnosed homeless people. His medical degree if from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed his psychiatric residency at Hartford Hospital Institute of Living, where he was Chief Resident, and a Public Psychiatry Fellowship at the New York Psychiatric Institute at Columbia University.
Zoya Popivker, DO joined the faculty on August 3, 2015 as an attending physician in the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic where she will see patients in the department’s new Autism Center. Dr. Popivker recently completed a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD. She is a graduate of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY and completed her psychiatric residency at Hofstra North Shore – LIJ School of Medicine in New Hyde Park.
Stacy Eagle, MD joined the Consultation and Liaison Service on September 15 to initiate the Psycho-Oncology program in the Cancer Center. Dr. Eagle spent the past year as a fellow in Psychosomatic Medicine and Psycho-Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center after completing a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. She earned her medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY and completed her psychiatric residency at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York.
