Two Members of the Department Faculty Selected for Outstanding Teaching Award

Two members of the Department of Psychiatry faculty were selected by the graduating medical school class of 2015 to receive an Award for Outstanding Teaching. Associate Professor Adeeb Yacoub, MD, the course director for the third-year clerkship in psychiatry, was selected for the award for the third time in four years. Associate Professor Eduardo Constantino, Director of Clinical Services for the Department, was selected for the first time. Dr. Constantino is the Course Director and Primary Instructor for the Psychiatry in Medicine course for fourth-year medical students. He also teaches the Psychiatry systems course for second-year medical students and lectures extensively throughout the school. The selections were  the result of a vote by the entire class.

The awards will be presented at the graduation reception on May 20 at the Watermill Inn.

Department Chair Ramin Parsey, MD, PhD described Dr. Yacoub and Dr. Constantino as "outstanding teachers and mentors who are deeply committed to the education of medical students." "I have been fortunate to be associated with some of the best academic institutions in the country," Dr. Parsey said, "but I have never seen this level of enthusiasm and concern for education."
