Five members of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science faculty were selected for inclusion in Castle Connolly’s list of top doctors in Long Island for 2012.
Gabrielle Carlson, MD, Head of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Deborah Weisbrot, MD, Director of the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Department were among the six child and adolescent psychiatrists selected by the publisher and information service, whose mission is to help consumers find the best healthcare.
Michael Schwartz, MD, Director of Residency Training was listed among the top adult psychiatrists on Long Island, along with two members of the department’s voluntary faculty, Thomas Aronson, MD and Bruce Rosen, MD.
Physicians in the Castle Connolly guide are nominated by their peers and selected by a research team based on medical education, professional achievements, administrative posts, and malpractice and disciplinary history. Castle Connolly selects physicians for recognition based on the nominations and the credentials’ review. Doctors do not and cannot pay to be included in the guide.
