Adeeb Yacoub, MD Selected for Membership in National Medical Honor Society

Adeeb Yacoub, MD

April 23, 2015 – Associate Professor Adeeb Yacoub, MD has been selected for membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha (ΑΩΑ) honor society by the student members of ΑΩΑ Class of 2015. The induction ceremony will take place on May 5, 2015 at the Old Field Club.

Founded in 1902, ΑΩΑ is the national medical honor society. According to the society’s constitution, only physicians who have demonstrated a commitment to scholarly excellence and medical education may be nominated for membership. Election is intended to be a lifelong honor, conferring recognition for a physician's dedication to the profession and art of healing.

“Dr. Yacoub was recognized for his outstanding bedside teaching, mentorship, and compassionate and professional manner, ” said Associate Dean Jack Fuhrer, MD, Councilor for the ΑΩΑ Chapter at Stony Brook Medicine. “He is a terrific role model for our students.”
