Why Med-Peds?:
"I wanted to be a pediatrician all my life being that I always helped take care of my younger cousins and bros in my big Hispanic family. My youngest brother being special needs helped me to appreciate the opportunity to care for a child in need and makes me grateful to watch him grow. In medical school, I fell in love with internal medicine as well and wanted to continue to see both patient populations."
What do you plan on doing when finished residency (if known)?
"Cardiology with a specialty in Adult Congenital Heart Disease. I love the heart and wish to know all about it and hope I can expand my experience to be able to help patients with cardiovascular issues spanning the patient's entire life."
Outside interests:
Outside of medical school Matthew enjoys playing basketball, futbol, anime, hiking, cooking, drawing, learning to play the piano.
