Dr. Chalmers is a graduate of Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University where she was nominated to the Gold Humanism Honor Society and was awarded the St. Luke’s University Health Network Scholarship. Dr. Chalmers also holds a Master of Science in Biology from Kyoto University in Japan. In addition, she was awarded a scholarship to stay on at Kyoto for a research project, which was published in a book chapter and presented at an international symposium. Dr. Chalmers volunteers her time with the Women’s Health Interest Group, the Student Run Community Clinic, and as a student mentor at Temple-St. Luke’s Regional Medical School. She enjoys rock climbing, experimenting with cooking and baking, and international travel. We are pleased to welcome Dr. Chalmers to Stony Brook and are certain that her leadership and teamwork skills will be an asset to our MedPeds residency program.

Why Med-Peds?: I want to be able to learn the care necessary for the most complex patients of any age in addition to becoming the ultimate primary care physician!
Why Stony Brook?: The fit was right, the residents were friendly and supportive of each other, and the program director was one of the best I had met on the trail.
What do you plan on doing when finished residency (if known)? For now, primary care.
Outside interests: Rock climbing, cooking/baking, travel.
