Research Interests Our lab studies Adenovirus (Ad), a human DNA tumor virus which serves as an excellent model to study the molecular mechanisms of viral infection. My thesis work focuses on the small viral protein, E4-ORF3, which is critical for counteracting several innate antiviral responses elicited during Ad infection. Understanding exactly how E4-ORF3 functions to promote virus infection will not only provide clues into Ad pathogenesis, but may also prove useful in our understanding of cellular responses to viral infection.
