Faculty Research
The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Stony Brook Medicine maintains active research programs focused on various types of kidney diseases. Ongoing basic, translational and clinical research within the division includes that in glomerular disease, tubular transport, diabetic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, kidney fibrosis, dialysis related cardiomyopathy and transplantation.
Long Island Kidney Education and Research Program
The mission of LIKER is to provide education and research experiences in nephrology and interdisciplinary collaborative areas for Stony Brook University undergraduates from diverse backgrounds. The program also provides career development and networking opportunities for our trainees to pursue higher education and to emerge successful in their future endeavors.
