Research Interests:
In my future research, I am interested in applying chemical and biophysical tools to interrogate the physical properties and dynamics of cell membranes and membrane proteins, with potential focus in the areas of cancer metastasis and immunology. My previous work dealt with bacterial biofilms and probing the molecular basis behind the formation of the specialized extracellular matrix E. coli produce. Specifically, I worked on developing solid-state NMR methodology for elucidating the molecular structure of the E. coli insoluble extracellular matrix, and defining the mechanisms of biofilm inhibitors with biochemical assays.
