Zulong Liu, MD, PhD
Research Assistant Professor
Department of Pathology
Stony Brook Cancer Center, MART, Level 7
Email: Zulong.Liu@stonybrookmedicine.edu
Research Interests:
My research focuses on cancer toxicology and pharmacology, with an emphasis on the molecular and epigenetic mechanisms underlying environmentally induced carcinogenesis. I investigate how environmental toxicants, including hexavalent chromium, arsenic, and benzo[a]pyrene, promote lung tumorigenesis through pathways involving epigenetic regulation, immune modulation, and DNA damage responses. I am also dedicated to identifying strategies to overcome cancer therapy resistance and to discovering novel therapeutic targets. Additionally, I develop innovative animal models and experimental platforms for studying tumor progression and for high-throughput screening of potential anti-cancer agents.
