I am pleased to welcome Dr. Robert Arena, our newest member to the Department of Pathology. Dr. Arena earned his MD at the University of Palermo’s School of Medicine and Surgery in 1995. He is a highly skilled clinical pathologist, with subspecialty expertise in several areas, including Microbiology, Blood-Banking, and Transfusion Medicine. Prior to his recruitment to Stony Brook, Dr. Arena served as Assistant Professor of Pathology in McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
Dr. Arena joins us as the Associate Director of Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine Service and a Clinical Consultant in Microbiology.
