Welcome Dr. Ashley Ellis, M.D. – Associate Director of Transfusion Medicine
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Ashley Ellis to her new role as Clinical Assistant Professor and Associate Director of Transfusion Medicine.
Dr. Ellis joins us with a distinguished background in transfusion medicine, hematology, and medical education. She most recently served as Medical Director of Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine and Fellowship Director at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital, where she also held faculty appointments in the Department of Pathology.
Board-certified in both Clinical Pathology and Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine, Dr. Ellis completed her residency at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia and fellowship training at Saint Louis University. Her clinical and academic work has centered on immunohematology, therapeutic apheresis, and diversity in blood, tissue, and organ donation.
An accomplished educator and researcher, Dr. Ellis has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications, contributed to national conferences, and received recognition for teaching excellence, including the Fergus O’M Shiel Teaching Award. Her commitment to advancing transfusion medicine and fostering diversity in healthcare makes her an invaluable addition to our faculty and leadership team.
