Registered nurses are available to answer your calls every day from 8 am to midnight. Callers will be evaluated and directed to the appropriate healthcare setting for assistance, as needed.
You can also evaluate your symptoms using Stony Brook Medicine's Coronavirus Symptom Checker in both English and Spanish. This online tool, developed by Stony Brook Medicine healthcare professionals, asks you a series of simple questions related to your symptoms and will direct you to the best resource for your healthcare needs.
CDC Guidelines for Prevention:
- Stay home when sick
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
- Disinfect and clean frequently touched objects using regular household cleaning supplies
- Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and wash them often
- Follow CDC's recommendations for using a facemask; CDC does not recommend wearing one if you are well in an aim to protect oneself from respiratory diseases
