I am an alumnus of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, class of 1995. I volunteer at clinic because one of my reasons in becoming a physician was to serve the underserved. This clinic gives me the opportunity to do that with patients. I also have a great opportunity to assist in the teaching of medical students. As a primary care physician, I get an opportunity to stress to the community and to upcoming health care providers the crucial role that preventive medicine and primary care have in our communities.
