Anatoly Mikhailik pursued his higher education at Kyiv State University in Kyiv, Ukraine. He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics in Kyiv. His doctoral research focused on the Src gene and the generation of new transforming retroviruses. Anatoly Mikhailik’s professional journey continued as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the CNRS Unit of Retroviral and Molecular Oncology at the Institute Curie in Orsay, France.

Here, he worked on Src tyrosine kinase and signal transduction in neural tissue. He later moved to the United States, where he joined the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Over the years, he held various positions, including Research Scientist, Senior Research Support Specialist, and Research Support Specialist. His work at Stony Brook focused on cell signaling in cancer, T-cell immunity, and the genetic and epigenetic variations in human diseases.
