Abigail T. Chua, MD
Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine
Dr. Abigail Chua is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Pulmonary /Critical Care Division, Department of Medicine, at Stony Brook University Hospital. She earned her Artium Baccalaureus from the University of Chicago, her Master of Public Health from Columbia University, and her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Chua completed her Internal Medicine Residency and subsequently, her Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center.
Her masters, doctorate and post-doctorate research has focused on global health, health care disparities, and quality improvement. She has a particular research interest in population based public health research. Her clinical interests are pulmonary infections including tuberculosis, lung cancer screening, and critical care outcomes research. As a Faculty member of the Department of Medicine at Stony Brook University since 2018, she practices inpatient critical care, inpatient pulmonary and outpatient pulmonary.
