Dr. Desai is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook University. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Communications from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and then went on to pursue her medicaldegree at Albany Medical College. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Temple University in Philadelphia followed by Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at the Mount Sinai Hospital in NY. She also received her Palliative care training at Stony Brook University and is board-certified in this field. She has been on faculty of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at Stony Brook since 2009, covering the MICU and inpatient and outpatient pulmonary services. She serves as both Director of the Center for ILD and Director of the Pulmonary Outpatient Practice.
Her clinical interests include the multi-disciplinary management of advanced lung diseases, including pulmonary fibrosis and sarcoidosis.
Her research interests include clinical trials and outcomes data in Sarcoidosis and interstitial lung diseases.
