Dr. Igor Chernyavskiy is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He received his MD degree from the Krasnoyarsk Medical Academy, Russia in 1987. In 1991 he received his Ph.D. from the same Medical School. His thesis was in the field of obstructive jaundice. Dr. Chernyavskiy had additional medical training in the USA at Monmouth Medical Center, NJ. He completed Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship training at Stony Brook University Medical Center between 1999 and 2002. Since 2002, he has been an attending pulmonologist at Northport VA Medical Center, NY and a member of the Pulmonary/Critical Care/Sleep Medicine Division, Department of Medicine at SBUMC. Dr. Chernyavskiy is currently the Section Chief of Pulmonary/Critical Care/Sleep Medicine/Allergy at Northport VA Medical center. Dr. Chernyavskiy has clinical interest and expertise in pulmonary and critical care medicine, interventional pulmonology and sleep medicine.
