Dr. Mansour is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and serves as Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Stony Brook University Medical Center.  Dr. Mansour completed his Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, at Stony Brook University, under the tutelage of Gerald C. Smaldone M.D. and has published on the medical applications of aerosolized particles, in the context of both delivery of medication and control of airborne infection.  His current research involves quality improvement initiatives examining novel ways of reducing iatrogenic harm caused by CAUTIs, CLABSIs and unnecessary restraint use in the critical care setting.  Dr. Mansour also serves as an active reviewer for several critical care and respiratory journals.  Dr. Mansour’s teaching initiatives at Stony Brook University include airway management, chronic respiratory failure and percutaneous tracheostomy.
