Application Review Process

The Program will accept up to 15 students per year.

Screening of Applicants: The program assistant will review all applications for completeness, minimum GPA requirements, and any red flags. All applicants who meet the GPA and prerequisite criteria will be granted telephone interviews. Any applications with red flags will be brought to the Program Director for consideration and scheduled for interviews if approved. Applicants must provide a rotation schedule with a secured preceptor and site for the Food Service Systems Management SEL. Admission Review Committee members will review these applicants' personal statements, letters of recommendation, GPA and official transcripts, work/volunteer/athletics experiences, and honors/awards/other achievements when completing the Application Review form. Scores on this form can range from 1 to 35 per reviewer.

Interview and Review of Application: During the interview, interviewers will clarify all aspects of the applicant's application and pose standard questions approved by the Admissions Review Committee. Each interviewer will ask a unique set of standard questions posed to each candidate. Immediately following the interview, each interviewer will complete an Interview Scoring form for which scores can range from 0-30 for each interviewer.

Decision: The program assistant will tally all scoring sheets for all candidates. The Admissions Review Committee will decide which candidates have demonstrated the ability to be successful in the program. These candidates will be offered admission.
