This program requires that students identify their own sites/preceptors for all supervised experiential learning courses. If the Program is unable to secure a Clinical Affiliation agreement with the site, it is the responsibility of the student to secure a new site.
Highlights of the Distance Track:
- Housed in a large Nutrition Division integrated with the Renaissance School of Medicine and Stony Brook University Hospital. The faculty and staff contribute to the curriculum.
- Each student will be required to attend a 30 minute video conference every other week with the Clinical Coordinator or Associate Director to assess attainment of competencies and to provide feedback.
- Students prepare their own schedules so needed weeks or days off can easily be accommodated, as needed
- Involved in robust CQI projects and clinical research projects
- Access to SBU library systems, e-journals, and e-databases (such as Natural Standard)
