PurpleStride

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network also known as PanCAN is the global leader in the fight against pancreatic cancer with a bold and comprehensive approach to Wage Hope through research, patient services, advocacy and community action. Every year they hold in NYC and other cities in the country an event that it is called, PurpleStride to raise funds to support all the programs they have for research and patient services. Last April 8th, the NYC PurpleStride  2017 took place in Prospect Park Brooklyn on April 8th (http://support.pancan.org/site/TR/PurpleStride/PurpleStride?fr_id=1134&pg=entry).

Luisa Escobar Hoyos and pancreatic cancer scientist, Direna Alonso, created a team called "Scientists Re-Searching for a Cure" (http://support.pancan.org/site/TR/PurpleStride/PurpleStride?team_id=5548&pg=team&fr_id=1134).  They gathered more than 45 pancreatic cancer scientists from the NY area and raised 4K for this cause.
