Research interests: Dr. Senzel collaborates on projects involving hematopoietic stem cell expansion, platelet genetic profiles, platelet function testing, and antiplatelet drug resistance. Other interests include newer anticoagulants, utilization of blood products and laboratory tests, bleeding disorders, transfusion support of stem cell transplantation, indications for apheresis, and clotting disorders such as antiphospholipid syndrome.
Clinical practice: Dr. Senzel is board certified in Clinical Pathology (2004), with subspecialty certification in Transfusion Medicine (2005). She is a practicing apheresis and blood bank physician. She has experience in interpretation of blood and fluid smears prepared in the hematology laboratory as well as coagulation testing.
