Please join me in welcoming Dr. Eric Yee to Stony Brook Medicine as Associate Professor and Director of Surgical Pathology. Dr. Yee is certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology and is an experienced surgical pathologist with subspecialty expertise in GI Pathology. He earned his BS in Microbiology, Immunology & Molecular Genetics at the University of California at Los Angeles (2003) and his MD from the University of Colorado in Denver (2007).   He went on to complete his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (2010) and fellowship in Gastrointestinal & Hepatobiliary pathology (2012) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School.  Prior to his recruitment to Stony Brook, Dr. Yee served as the Chief of Surgical Pathology at the University of Oklahoma and as a GI surgical pathologist at the University of Arkansas. 

In his role as Director of Surgical Pathology, Dr. Yee will report to Dr. Sui Zee, our Vice Chair for Anatomic Pathology. He will facilitate the transformation of the division to a fully subspecialized service, enhancing diagnostic efficiency and training opportunities for our medical students, residents and clinical fellows.  Dr. Yee will also leverage his experience in digital pathology and pancreatic cancer research to support the academic missions of the Department of Pathology and the School of Medicine.
