Dr. Cynthia Kaplan Named President Elect of the Society for Pediatric Pathology

August, 2009: Dr. Cynthia Kaplan, Professor in the Department of Pathology at Stony Brook University Medical Center, has been named President Elect for the Society for Pediatric Pathology. The Society is an educational and scientific organization of physicians and scientists who share a common interest in this vital field. Over 500 members of the Society practice in more than 60 Children's Hospitals and University Hospitals of the United States, Canada and throughout the world. The primary missions of the Society are to foster research, education, and excellence in diagnostic service. Dr. Kaplan's appointment to this prestigious position is an important achievement and reflects her standing as a national and international leader in the field of Pediatric Pathology.
