Katarzyna Sawicka

Dr. Katarzyna (Kasia) Sawicka won first prize in the graduate division of the national Collegiate Inventors Competition for her invention of “Immuno-Matrix,” a non-invasive skin patch that uses nanofibers to hold and effectively deliver a vaccine through the skin. Dr. Sawicka, a recently graduated doctoral student, studied under Dr. Sanford Simon and is currently working as a post-doctoral research associate for the Department of Dermatology at Stony Brook University.
