Welcome Dr. Mehdi Damaghi, December 2021

I am pleased to welcome Dr. Mehdi Damaghi, our newest member to the Department of Pathology!

Dr. Damaghi earned his PhD in Cell Biology and Genetics from the Max Planck Institute in Dresden, Germany, and completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Department of Cancer Imaging and Metabolism, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute.  Prior to his recruitment to Stony Brook, in partnership with the Stony Brook Cancer Center, Dr. Damaghi served as Research Scientist in the Department of Cancer Physiology at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa and as an Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida’s Morsani College of Medicine.

As an Assistant Professor in our department, Dr. Damaghi and his lab, including postdoctoral research fellows, will advance the research and academic missions of the Department of Pathology, the Cancer Center, and the School of Medicine by focusing on tumor evolution and the microenvironment, with an emphasis on the development of multi-omics models of carcinogenesis in breast cancer.

Please join me in Welcoming Dr. Damaghi to Pathology!
