How to Apply

Our application process adheres to the requirements of the Equal Employment Opportunity and the Americans with Disability Act to ensure all qualified applicants are reviewed without discrimination based on sex, race, age, religion, color, national origin, disability, or veteran status.

Requirements include:

  • Scheduled completion of a United States–based ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency Program.
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or J-1 visa holder. Unfortunately, applicants with H-1B visas cannot be considered.
  • Include three letters of recommendation in your ERAS application, including one from an attending physician in Neonatology.
  • Graduates of medical schools in the United States and abroad who have successfully completed a U.S. Pediatric Residency program are eligible to apply for positions in the Stony Brook Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowship Program.

Virtual Interview Day Schedule

Interview Process

In accordance with the decision of Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowships nationally and our institution, Stony Brook Children's will conduct virtual interviews for the 2025-2026 application cycle. Although you will not meet us in person, we look forward to getting to know you through our interactive Thalamus GME interview day.

The interview season begins in September and ends in late October. Invitations to interview will be sent through Thalamus GME, where you can schedule your interview. Interview dates fill quickly, so responding to your invitation as soon as possible will help you secure your preferred date.

Virtual interviews will be held on the Thalamus GME platform. Our invited applicants website includes tips on virtual interviewing and detailed instructions for using Thalamus GME. Our coordinators are always available by telephone or email to assist.
